Separated by space and/or time and want to collaborate with others? Why not try an online whiteboard?
With a whiteboard everyone can put their ideas up on the screen for all to see. Ideas can be quickly sketched out, developed or discarded.
There are plenty of examples of whiteboards on the web for you to try. Why not start out with these examples, Imagination cubed, Skrbl, or Thinkature
So now there’s no excuse for not getting group work done.

Thanks to the power of the web, you don’t always need access to graphic programs installed on your computer to manipulate your images.
These days you can find services on the web that offer increasingly sophisticated tools and interesting hookups to other web 2.0 products.
Interested? Why not try out some of the following.
Fauxto, which mimics photoshops layout.
Picnik, which offers Flickr integration.
Pixenate, also offers Flickr and allyoucanupload.com integration.
Control is in your hands.

This UCD Library virtual study aids blog will suggest tools that you can use to make your study more productive.
The good news is that this is all free and as it is all Web 2.0 based, it is available to you from any computer attached to the web.
To kick off, why not download the Library toolbar. With this you can, among other things, quickly search databases and find useful library webpages.
Subscribe to our News RSS Feed and keep up to date with any new tools as they become available.
Let us know what you think, and if you have found the perfect tool to help with your study, drop us a line and we’ll feature it.

Off campus? Use our electronic resources regularly? here’s a tool that you might find useful. MyAthens toolbar. Install and the toolbar will display most of the online library resources available off-campus, once you are logged into UCD Connect (of course). Below is a screen shot of what it looks like in action. All you need do is click on the resource that you want. Simple really, but so useful.
